A guide that quietly edits its mistakes cannot be trusted. Errors here are fixed promptly, and factual corrections are recorded on the page.

## Reporting an error

Use the [contact form](/contact/) or write to [info@weightplot.com](mailto:info@weightplot.com). Give the page address, quote the passage, and say what is wrong with it. A source helps; a clear explanation without one is still worth sending. Reports are acknowledged and handled ahead of new work.

## How each kind of error is handled

| What it is | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| Typing or formatting error | Fixed without a note. |
| Clarification that does not change the meaning | Fixed, and the updated date changes. |
| Wrong figure, source or safety statement | Fixed, with a dated correction note at the end of the guide stating what it said before and what it says now. |
| Error that changes the guide's answer | A correction note at the top of the guide, and the whole guide is re-checked against its sources. |
| Official guidance has changed | Treated as an update, not a correction: the passage and the updated date change, without a correction note. |

**Safety first.** A report that a guide could lead someone to harm, such as a calorie level, an exercise or a missing warning, is treated as the highest priority and reviewed the same day it is read.

## What a correction note says

The date, the passage, the previous wording and the current wording. If a figure was wrong, the note says it was wrong.

## What we will not do

- Delete a guide to make an error disappear.

- Remove a correction note once it has been published.

- Change accurate content because a company objects to it.

- Treat a report differently depending on who sent it.
